The Embraer 190, a new aircraft for Régional
On 24 November 2006, Régional took possession of its first Embraer 190, with an eye to modernising its fleet, while increasing its on-board passenger capacity. A twin-engined jet with a capacity of more than 100 seats, it flies at a speed of some 810 kilometres/hour and boasts a good number of advantages: real comfort, a generous baggage volume, a wide corridor and four doors facilitating passenger boarding and disembarkment.
In addition, the Embraer 190 is particularly silent, because in terms of noise, it ranks second right behind the Fokker 100 and before numerous other jets.
Régional is the first airline in Europe to receive the Embraer 190, the jewel of the fourth manufacturer worldwide. The first commercial flights with the Embraer 190 took off on Wednesday 29th November. Orders for six Embraer 190 jets were placed by the company.

Régional, official sponsor of the 2006 French Gliding Championships
For the second year running, Régional is the official sponsor of the 2006 French Gliding Championships. For one week, 90 glider pilots will be gathering together, to compete for the title of French champion in their category: free-form, 18m or young pilots. The event will be held again this year at the Ajoncs (Vendée) aerodrome, from 30 July to 6 August, and promises to welcome a good many visitors lured by the glider or simply curious to see this astonishing aviation pioneer fly.
The subtle control of air masses is an art mastered by Laurent Aboulin (World Champion 2001 and 2004 and 2005 French Champion) and Sébastien Dubreuil (2001 world Vice Champion and 3rd Champion of France 2005), Régional pilots aboard Fokker 100 aircraft.
Throughout the day, visitors will be offered numerous activities (parachute jumps, first glider flights... and more).
Visit www.vvy.info for information (in french).

Régional: an avid Telethon 2005 supporter
To lend the AFM (French Association against Muscular Dystrophy) its support, Régional organised a cycle race between the company's Nantes-based headquarters and its key Maintenance base in Clermont-Ferrand.
Twenty-eight cyclists in all, assisted by a dozen or so people, all Régional employees, cycled 27 hours, at night and during the day, chalking up 475 kilometres during the Telethon days.
The mobilisation of participants was outstanding and the memories of this race will stay in our memories for a long time to come.
A number of suppliers and members of staff went even further in their commitment, by giving money for the AFM. In parallel, the sale of Breton soft toys (Telethon 2005 effigy) was organised at all company sites.
This great human adventure harvested 4025 euros, presented to the AFM by Régional.

Two Régional employees take part in the Raid Air Solidarité
As it did last year, Régional took part in Air Solidarité, a long-distance flight with a humanitarian focus, that took place from 22 October to 11 November 2005. 18 crews signed up for this 17th edition, among whom two Régional employees, Nicole Rossollin, co-pilot on Embraer 145, and Catherine Boton, dispatch agent and holder of a private pilot's license.
In Cameroon, the Régional crew, with its partners, lent their support to a small urban-environment business development programme, conducted since August 1997 by ASI in Maroua, a city of 200,000 inhabitants and the capital of the Extreme North Province. A 3-day stopover in this city, at the beginning of November, gave us a clear picture of the projects completed by the ASI in this region.
It was with a Robin Regent 180 hp four-seater, that they set out to conquer the African continent and return with memories of unforgettable encounters.

October 2005
Renewal of the Air Transport Certificate for a further 3 years (maximum period)
Régional has just received its new Air Transport Certificate from the Department of Civil Aviation.
Renewed for a further 3 years, in other words through to 31 October 2008, it thus takes over from the certificate granted in October 2002, already for 3 years (maximum period authorised under the regulations).
Receiving this CTA marks the administration's recognition of the Work tirelessly accomplished by all Régional teams.
This year, special mention should go to the Maintenance Department, that successfully earned the new European agreement (Part M), concerning the follow-up of aircraft navigability one more successful leap forward.

September 2004
A new flight product
A new flight product has been in place aboard Régional aircraft since 31 October last. The aim is to offer a quality service and a diversified offer.
The product is essentially threefold: • morning “viennoiseries” (croissants and other pastries): for breakfast time flights
• sweet and savoury: baskets of chocolate and small salami-type sausages for flights between meals
• meals: with an original, quality sandwich option offering stuffed pretzels and other specialities. The new system is designed for alternating four product choices per week (e.g.: cheese, ham, salmon and chicken pretzels) and to renew these choices each week. Régional also seeking to “regionalise” its menus, Alsace pretzels could be replaced with Breton “crepes” (French-style pancakes), southern-style bagna bread.
